lyrics

Back to the wall and curled to the floor,
I have nowhere to go anymore.
The life I have led has brought me to this place;
a rebel at heart who has fallen from grace.

Don't hold me captive and take me for good.
You took me for granted. I knew that you would.
Sailing this ship, but I won't reach your port.
There's water for miles. I hope that there's more.

You cannot set yourself free from your misery.
You cannot set yourself free.
It's too late. It's too late.
Where were you when the whole world
was knocking at your door?
You were caught up in this storm.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you now.
I am the finch forgotten somehow.
I cannot escape to this place that I see
I'll never become what I now want to be.

Don't hold me captive and take me for good.
You took me for granted. I knew that you would.
Now send off this voyage to take me away.
The shore is in sight and it's waiting for me.

You cannot set yourself free from your misery.
You cannot set yourself free.
It's too late. It's too late.
Where were you when the whole world
was expecting more from you?
It's too late. It's too late.

Hold it up and come ashore.
I want so much more,
but I knew that you wouldn't even listen.
...and the enemy's running.
